Jennifer Dulos, 50, was last seen on Friday, May 24, dropping off her children at school and was reported missing later that same day after failing to show up for numerous meetings by friends. Her vehicle was found abandoned later the same day near an area park.
Earlier Friday, New Canaan Police, along with state police had been on Lapham Road in the area of Waveny Park where her SUV was found handing out flyers
Later in the day, New Canaan officers, along with Connecticut State Police and Hartford officers were seen in the area of Albany Avenue and Adams Street in Hartford, reported WFSB News 3.
The news agency also said police were also seen searching in the area of Homestead Avenue and Sterling Street.
One group was seen searching a storm drain in front of Scotts’ Jamaican Bakery, but nothing was found, Hartford Fire Deputy Chief Harry Tulier told the Hartford Courant.
Police have also extensively searched Waveny Park, Dulos' New Canaan home and the surrounding area, as well as a home owned by her mother in Pound Ridge in Northern Westchester County.
State police confirmed the Hartford search around 4:20 p.m. on Friday, but declined to comment further. They said any additional information would come from New Canaan police and the Stamford State’s Attorney’s Office.
Investigators reportedly found blood in Dulos’ rented New Canaan home when searched.
In court documents, Dulos stated that she was feared for her life and was afraid her estranged husband would harm her or the children.
Dulos is quoted in the documents as saying, "I am afraid of my husband. I know that filing for divorce and filing this motion will enrage him. I know he will retaliate by trying to harm me in some way."
Dulos is 5 feet, 8 inches tall, 120 pounds, with brown eyes and brown hair, police said.
A vigil in support of Dulos is planned for 7:30 p.m., Sunday, June 2, at the Hartford Golf Club. The vigil is open to the public.
